Transparent reporting of sustainability-related information is crucial for building trust, managing risks, making informed decisions, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring long-term business success in a rapidly changing global landscape. In addition to Elanders’ Annual and Sustainability Report, Elanders highlights its impact and the progress made in voluntary international frameworks for sustainability reporting.
Through the EU directive CSRD, Elanders is required from the financial year 2025 to report based on the principle of double materiality, which is the basis for sustainability reporting within the framework of ESRS. The assessment should include the entire value chain. In 2024, Elanders conducted a double materiality analysis; see more information under Strategy and materiality assessment.
Since 2023, Elanders has been affiliated with the UN Global Compact. The commitment means that the Group will adapt business strategies and operations to ten generally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor rights, environment, and anti-corruption. Every year, Elanders must submit a CoP report (Communication on Progress) that describes the measures taken to integrate these principles, any challenges, and the methods to address them. The report serves as a mechanism for transparency and demonstrates Elanders’ commitment to responsible business practices and accountability to stakeholders.
Since 2022, the Group reports to CDP on the topics requested by customers. CDP is a non-profit organization and platform that facilitates companies, cities, countries, and regions to map and present risks and opportunities regarding climate change, water supply, and deforestation.
